Michele K. Schorbahn, Attorney (she/her)

Michele has been practicing law exclusively in the area of family relations for more than twenty years. She moved from Wisconsin to Minnesota in 1999 to attend William Mitchell College of Law. She was licensed to practice law in Minnesota in 2002 and Wisconsin in 2003. Michele served as a Judicial Law Clerk in Hennepin County Family Court for three years and then worked in three Twin Cities Metro firms of differing sizes and styles. She was recognized as a Minnesota Rising Star in 2010, 2011, and 2012 for her work in family law. In 2013 she started her own firm to serve her clients in her own way, focusing on divorce education, creative long-term solutions, and client empowerment.

Michele has also been an Adjunct Professor of Writing and Representation at William Mitchell College of Law. She has presented seminars at the Family Law Institute and served in various volunteer positions including ACLU-Minnesota, Volunteer Lawyers Network and various local legal clinics. In the summer of 2020, Michele co-organized a group of local attorneys and formed the Community Legal Collective, in partnership with Zeus Jones, to provide free legal services to communities affected by the Minneapolis civil uprising.

Willa, Office dog and Noble Beast

Willa is a thirteen year old French Bulldog and Cocker Spaniel mix. She has been working with Michele in family law firms since she was a puppy. Willa is head of the welcoming committee at Schorbahn Family Law and is the calming force of the firm.

 

Lily Lou, Office Dog and Loyal Companion

Lily Lou is a ten year old Springer Spaniel. She joined us in 2017 after living with a series of humans who were not her kind of people. Lily is head of security and the most outspoken member of the firm. She occasionally joins Zoom conferences.
